Where Do I Get My News?

I get my news regarding current events from lots of different places. My family and friends provide some of the more trending topics that are more commonly known. My main line of information consumption, however, is through podcasts. The podcasts I listen to have a wide range of topic from current world events to political events. According to the reading getting good evidence requires an appeal to authority, testimonials, and research studies. Frequently the reporters or commentators in my podcasts refer to these very things. I might exhibit the characteristics of a critical thinker by taking the evidence presented from my news source and looking at the studies and testimonials referenced and doing my own analysis to make sure my source is not presenting biased interpretation. Some barriers to this are the accessibility of the sources. Some studies require you to pay a fee to see the raw data or to get a login to see their research. Additionally, time is a barrier because there is a lot of news to keep up on and trying to analyze ever single thing presented would take time and effort to research that I don’t have as a college student trying to keep up with homework.
